CHECK-UP

A general health examination conducted to assess an individual’s health status, identify potential issues, or risks is referred to as a ‘check-up.’ Check-up packages, which include age and gender-specific blood tests and imaging studies, provide an overall health assessment. This allows for the evaluation of the presence or absence of any health problems before symptoms manifest.

Check-up programs are based on a preliminary consultation and examination by a physician to determine the full content. While there are standard packages tailored to age and gender, additional panels can be added based on factors such as genetic predispositions, chronic diseases, history of smoking/alcohol or substance use, and the specific needs of the individual:

  • Cancer screenings
  • Heart health assessment
  • Allergy and food intolerance tests
  • Infectious disease screenings
  • Bone health evaluations
  • Sleep quality analysis
  • Mental functions and memory tests
  • Assessment of rheumatic diseases
  • Anti-aging and immune system analyses

Following the physician-patient consultation, appropriate tests are identified based on the individual’s needs, and unnecessary tests are avoided. This approach not only creates a more effective screening program but also saves time and costs.

A check-up is not limited to medical tests and examinations alone. In a comprehensive check-up process, along with detailed laboratory tests, genetic predisposition and environmental factors are considered, and examinations are conducted in the necessary medical specialties. This comprehensive approach enables the detection of certain diseases that cannot be diagnosed solely through blood tests and physical examinations, using advanced imaging and radiological studies. Especially for individuals aged 40 and above, it is recommended to undergo a comprehensive check-up every 2 years, even if there are no apparent diseases or symptoms.
